For: Eco-Champions Tackling Nigerian Environmental Challenges
Target Group: Secondary School Students (Science, Tech, or Climate-Conscious Tracks)
Theme: “From Waste to Wealth. From Problem to Solution.”
The Green Warriors Program equips students with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to develop sustainable, tech-driven solutions to Nigeria’s biggest environmental problems. Through hands-on projects, digital skills, and storytelling, students become changemakers who don’t just dream of a greener future — they build it.
Each student team will work on one or more eco-projects with real-world impact:
🧱 Plastic-Bottle Classrooms
Turn plastic waste into insulated building blocks for low-cost, sustainable classrooms.
🥥 Cassava Waste Biofuel
Convert leftover cassava peels into cooking gas or electricity.
🗺️ AI-Powered Erosion Control Maps
Use AI and satellite data to identify erosion hotspots and propose solutions for affected communities.
The curriculum combines eco-science, engineering, and digital activism, structured into three high-impact units:
🌍 Unit 1: \\\\\\\"Water Wisdom\\\\\\\"
- Build borehole filters using local materials
- Code low-cost water quality testers with sensors & Arduino
🔥 Unit 2: \\\\\\\"Energy Entrepreneurs\\\\\\\"
- Design gasless clay cookers for rural households
- Prototype solar-powered ice makers for fish traders in riverine areas
📱 Unit 3: \\\\\\\"Eco-Advocacy\\\\\\\"
- Film mini-documentaries on local environmental issues
- Create viral #CleanNaija campaigns using Canva, TikTok & Instagram Reels
Hands-on STEM Learning
Work with sensors, solar panels, natural materials, and basic AI tools.
Community-Based Innovation
Projects are inspired by real issues in the students’ local environment.
Digital Storytelling for Change
Students learn to pitch, document, and share their projects for public awareness and policy impact.
Every Green Warrior receives access to:
Sustainability Innovation Kits (solar cells, water test kits, compostable materials)
Arduino + Sensors Pack for physical computing experiments
Content Creation Tools (Canva Pro access, basic video editing apps)
Mentorship from climate scientists, engineers, and green entrepreneurs
By the end of the program, participants will:
Understand core environmental science and clean tech concepts
Create 2–3 working green innovations
Build confidence in public speaking, video production, and advocacy
Present their solutions at the Green Warriors Demo Day
Duration: 3 Academic Terms
Locations: Participating schools, Eco Clubs, or Local Innovation Hubs
Ideal Participants: Students in SS1–SS3 who are passionate about climate, science, or community development
Recognition: Certificate of Participation + Opportunity to win seed funding or feature in national environmental youth showcases
